Defends an area[1]

"...and although he could barely see out of it, he pointed his wand through the smashed window and started muttering incantations of great complexity. Harry heard a weird rushing noise, as though Flitwick had unleashed the power of the wind into the grounds."

Protego horribilis is the incantation of a charm that can be used to defend a certain area against attack[1]. It is very complex, as Harry Potter noted[1].

Professor Flitwick performed this charm in May of 1998 to prepare Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the Battle of Hogwarts, among many other enchantments[1].
