Bathilda Bagshot was a witch and a magical historian[3]. She is the author of A History of Magic, and is recognised as one of the most prominent historians of the twentieth century[3]. She was killed sometime in 1997 by Lord Voldemort[1] and his snake Nagini , and never married[2].
